Ranger Kent McIntire tries to make peace between the Ottawa and the British. When he visits his friend chief Pontiac he meets white hostage Winifred Lancaster and frees her with a cunning trick.
Col. von Weber who hates all indians disturbes the negotiations by sending pox infected blankets to the Ottawa as a gift.
The Ottawa chief Pontiac is a historic person who fought against the British from about 1750 to 1765. And it is true, that indians were killed by infected stuff.
